Mimata is a contemporary menswear brand with innovative and meticulous construction at its core. In celebration of our rich, diverse cultural background, we imbue all our garments with Japanese craftsmanship and Peruvian dynamism

Gabriel Ortega-Mimata is the firstborn son of Peruvian-Japanese immigrants in Los Angeles, California. The histories, rich cultural traditions, and geography learned via his multi-ethnic upbringing are heavily explored and reimagined as motifs in the garments.
